Too Much Bass

We come to the muddy blues of the rumble with no clarity called simply, using "too much bass". You may like some thump in your music where appropriate like at a club, concert arena, and even your home stereo or headphones, but when all you can hear is an overdose of lows that makes a song sound like it is trapped in a box, you'll more than likely pass.

It's like you are missing the party standing outside where there is no clarity, no highs, and no mids exist here. Just a roaring thump that just yells earthquake. Unless you are trying to create the effect of thunder, using too much bass in the EQ of the mastering process is definitely something you can do with out.

Too much bass in a kick drum can have conflict with a bass line. These two sounds should not have a lot of lows added to them because they are, especially a bass guitar can deprive a mix of it's clarity.

The lows can be so over powering that it eliminates everything in the song. So it is clear that the use of  low ends excessively, will only give you the result of mud thick audio where no other sound has the room to breathe in the track.
